Why A Virtual College Fair?

Although we wanted to have the fair in a face-to-face format this year, the safety of the students, parents, educators, and college recruiters is the number one priority of the Next Step Education team. We hosted our fair virtually in 2020 and due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Atlanta area, we have made the decision to host our 2021 college fair in a virtual format again this year. Don't worry! Attendees will still get the Next Step Education experience that they have come to expect. We wanted students around the country to have access to this impactful fair regardless of the instructional format of the upcoming academic year in their area.

Who is eligible to attend the Virtual College Fair?

The virtual college fair is open to all students, parents, and educators, including: private and home-schooled students.

How does the virtual college fair work?

We are using zoom as the software platform to host the virtual college fair. Students will need to register on Eventbrite and will use the official virtual zoom link sent to them to attend the fair.

What do I need to provide for on-the-spot acceptance and scholarships?

All colleges will not have the ability to offer on-the-spot acceptance and/or scholarships. However, for those who do, high school seniors should have electronic copies of all application supporting documentation. These documents include high school transcript, SAT/ACT test scores, letters of recommendation, and brag sheets/student resumes (if available). Underclassmen (freshmen, sophomores, juniors) do not need to have supporting documents, but should prepare for professional interactions with college recruiters and other college personnel.

Expectations of participating students

The Next Step Education team expects all student to prepare for professional interaction with college recruiters and other vendors. Please be attentive and in a quiet place (not your bed) so that you can gain as much information as possible. Remember, these are individuals who could make a decision about your future.

If I have a question, how can I contact the Next Step Education team.

The best way to contact us is via email at info@nextstepeducation.org. During the fair, there will be Next Step Education Q&A booth for participants to reach out if needed.

How will I know which colleges are participating in the fair?

We will have the list of registered colleges on this page. The list will be updated regularly.
