Next Step News
High school students need to expose themselves to many experiences that can assist them in making a more informed decision about post-secondary options and career opportunities. Attending college fairs and preview days can help students get a feel for a college. Shadowing a few professionals can give insight to potential career options.
Exposure is Important
Students and parents from all over the country are navigating this new normal for the upcoming academic year. Regardless of the instructional format of your school, the college readiness process does not stop. You are still expected to be prepared to transition to the next level. We are here to assist you with that process by creating opportunities to become more informed and better prepared.

Early Decision and Early Action applications should be finalized and submitted this month. Have a parent, teacher, counselor, or other adult review the application before it is submitted.
Every college will require a copy of your transcript from your high school. Follow your school’s procedure for sending transcripts.
Make sure testing companies have sent your scores directly to the colleges to which you are applying.
Continue to research and visit colleges.
Continue preparing for the PSAT. If you have taken it, get ready for the SAT or ACT next semester.
Start positioning yourself for leadership roles in extracurricular activities.
